The Government of Montenegro today gave the green light to the Proposal for a Decision on the number of students to enroll in the first year of undergraduate studies at the University of Montenegro for the academic year 2026/2027, which are financed from the state budget, so the competition will most likely be announced during the next semester, "Vijesti" has learned unofficially.
The competition will advertise 3.159 places for freshmen - mostly at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (330), Philosophy (325) and Economics (310). The Faculty of Science and Mathematics plans to enroll 250 students, the Faculty of Law 240, and the Faculty of Philology 230. The Faculty of Maritime Studies will be able to enroll 220 freshmen, while the Faculty of Medicine has 195 places. The Faculty of Biotechnology will admit 155 new students, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management 150. The Faculty of Political Sciences has 140 places, the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education 120, and the Faculty of Civil Engineering 110.
A smaller number of places is planned at the Faculty of Technology - 70, the Faculty of Architecture - 50, the Faculty of Fine Arts - 48, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts - 35 and the Academy of Music - 31.
The Faculty of Technology has accredited new study programs, and will announce 30 freshmen in Food and Bioprocess Engineering, and 20 each in the Environment and Sustainable Development and Technological Engineering programs.
At the Faculty of Philosophy, 30 places are planned for the new Special Education and Rehabilitation program.
