The Support Battalion of the Army of Montenegro hired a tanker for the needs of supplying drinking water to the population in the municipality of Kotor, at the request of state and local authorities.
This was announced by the Army of Montenegro (AVCG).
According to them, they are providing support to citizens due to disruptions in the public water supply caused by the salinization of the Orahovac and Škurda springs, which, as they state, is why part of the Kotor municipality does not have proper drinking water.
"The Support Battalion's tanker will be deployed at locations determined by the competent municipal authorities, in accordance with the needs of the population and the water distribution plan. In this way, the Army of Montenegro contributes to mitigating the consequences of the situation and ensuring a more regular supply of drinking water to citizens," the statement said.
The Armed Forces of Montenegro add that they remain ready, within their jurisdiction and available capacities, to provide support to civilian institutions and citizens in the event of unforeseen circumstances and situations of importance for the protection and security of the population.
