The highest number of cases of unauthorized and irregular construction in protected areas of the Capital City last year was recorded in the nature parks "Rijeka Zeta" and "Komovi", as well as the "Gorica" forest park, according to the Report on the work of the Agency for the Management of Protected Areas (AZUP) for last year.
According to that document, over the past year, AZUP "demonstrated dedication and commitment to fulfilling their obligations, and they often performed certain tasks on a voluntary basis and outside of working hours."
Protected areas on the territory of Podgorica include the nature parks "Komovi" and "Rijeka Zeta", as well as the natural monuments "Magara" and "Gorica".
"When it comes to Gorica, the biggest challenge during the past year was the monitoring and control of construction works carried out in the protection zone of the Natural Monument. Members of the Protection Service regularly visited several construction sites in these zones, checking whether the contractors had the appropriate permits from the competent authorities... In several cases, they noted certain irregularities that, in the further procedure, the Administrative Affairs Service processed through the competent inspections. Also, non-compliance with the ban on riding motorcycles continues to be an occasional problem in this area...", the report, signed by the acting (acting) director, states. Dalibor Zecevic.
When it comes to the Magari Cave, it says, the Protection Service concluded that a stone wall collapsed last year.
The document also states that the activities of this service in the "Rijeka Zeta" Nature Park were also "dynamic".
"During the visit, several locations of illegally dumped waste were observed. The largest percentage of problems were with illegal construction, more precisely, the construction of various types of facilities without the appropriate permits from the competent institutions... Due to the seriousness of the problem, precise coordinates and data were taken from all locations of dumped waste in this area, which, in accordance with needs and changes, are regularly reported to the environmental and construction inspection, which reacted in accordance with their powers and capabilities," it states.
The Komovi area, the document states, was the most demanding for the Protection Service "in terms of supervision and control":
"The reason for this is its size and distance from the AZUP headquarters, as well as weather conditions. In this area, at several locations, the Protection Service has noted and documented illegal construction, about which the Building Inspectorate has been repeatedly requested and urged to carry out urgent inspection supervision."
"Vijesti" previously wrote that 100 illegal activities were detected in the capital and its surroundings last year.
The AZUP Work Report also states that the company spent just over 20.000 euros on tools, inventory, office supplies, and electricity.
According to a document published on the city parliament website, they spent 3.706 euros on fuel.
"The costs of salaries and other personal income, which include taxes and contributions, amounted to 377.032 euros, and include, in addition to salaries, the costs of compensation for members of the Agency's Council. Of the planned costs for the procurement of services for the implementation of program activities in the total amount of 159.400 euros, costs in the amount of 105.189 euros were realized," the Agency's Work Report states.
It is also noted that the depreciation costs of fixed assets amounted to slightly more than 8.700 euros, and other financial expenses amounted to 1.884 euros...
