Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić congratulated the leadership and citizens of Andrijevica on July 17th - Municipality Day.
"The symbolic level of this holiday brings together the entire heroic heritage of the Vasojević region, encouraging new visions and momentum for further growth and development of the municipality. The liberal tradition, civic spirit and values that Andrijevica inherits represent a strong incentive to continue to jointly achieve the strategic development goals of both the municipality and the entire Montenegro," said Spajić.
Since the time of post-war reconstruction, as stated in the congratulatory message, such an extensive construction cycle in road infrastructure has not been recorded, which is a key prerequisite for balanced regional development and better connectivity of all parts of our country.
In this sense, the construction of the second section of the highway, Mateševo – Andrijevica, which has begun, is of particular importance, as Spajić stated, will not only improve the connection of the north with the central and southern parts of Montenegro, but will also play an important role in regional and European traffic flows. The trust that the European Union places in this project is also confirmed by the non-refundable grant in the amount of 150 million euros.
"In the coming years, it is necessary to continue with the strong valorization of the agricultural, water, forest and rural potential of Andrijevica. Special attention should be paid to the development of the Komovi area, whose natural and tourist potential can become one of the main drivers of sustainable development and attracting new investments, in accordance with modern standards and expectations of the European market," said Spajić, expressing his belief that Andrijevica and the entire northern region, in the final stages of the European integration process, can expect stronger economic development, for the benefit of all citizens of Montenegro.
