The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) and "Komunalno" Nikšić signed a Memorandum of Cooperation establishing a framework for the implementation of joint activities aimed at improving the school environment, developing environmental awareness and creating better conditions for children and youth in educational institutions.
The memorandum, as stated in the statement of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, was signed by the relevant Minister Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović and the Executive Director of "Komunalno" Nikšić Nemanja Vuković, confirming their joint commitment to implement projects that contribute to environmental protection, sustainable development and improvement of educational infrastructure through partnership.
"Special emphasis has been placed on improving school sports fields, so as part of the cooperation, additional furniture necessary for their full functionality will be reconstructed and installed in the courtyards of the primary schools of the 'Mileva Lajović Lalatović', 'Luka Simonović' and 'Ratko Žarić' public institutions," the statement states.
In addition, as they add, the Memorandum envisages the implementation of numerous activities in the field of ecology and environmental protection, including organizing education and workshops on recycling and proper waste management, tree planting campaigns, placing containers for selective waste disposal in educational institutions, as well as jointly marking important environmental dates.
"The signing of the Memorandum confirms the common intention to improve the quality of the school environment through specific projects and activities, develop an ecological culture among children and young people, and further strengthen cooperation between the educational and municipal sectors in the interest of the local community," the statement concludes.
