Ministry of Interior: Six aircraft will be deployed to the fire areas in Bijela and Ulcinj from the earliest hours of the morning

A total of six aircraft will be deployed to the fire areas in Bijela and Ulcinj from the earliest morning hours, in accordance with the situation on the ground and the assessment of the competent services.

The Ministry of Interior announced that today, the air force engaged in extinguishing fires in Montenegro carried out a total of 137 sorties, during which 282 tons of water were dropped above the fire.

Three AT-802 aircraft made 34 sorties and released 102 tons of water, while the AN-32P aircraft made 10 sorties and delivered 80 tons of water. The aircraft were engaged in extinguishing fires at the locations of Bijela – Baošići in the municipality of Herceg Novi and Vladimir – Zoganj in the municipality of Ulcinj.

Helicopter units of the Army of Montenegro, with two Bell 412 helicopters, made 93 sorties and dropped 100 tons of water on the fire in the area of ​​Bijela and Baošić.

As announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a meeting of the Municipal Protection and Rescue Team is underway in Ulcinj, led by the Mayor of the Municipality Genci Nimanbegu, and attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Danilo Šaranović, Director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue Miodrag Bešović, Head of the Podgorica Police Department Vojin Vojinović, and Head of the Ulcinj Police Department Nikola Drašković.

Firefighters from Ulcinj, Bar, Budva, Podgorica, as well as the Montenegro Fire Department from Podgorica with one vehicle and six members are engaged in the field, doing everything they can to bring the fires under control and prevent their further spread.

"The competent services are continuously monitoring the situation in all active fire areas, and available human and aviation capacities are being deployed in accordance with the needs and developments in the situation on the ground," it was announced.
