MUP: The most critical situation above Đenovići and in Ulcinj, a fire has also been activated above Dragalj

In Montenegro, according to the latest data, there are active fires in five municipalities, and the most critical situation is above Đenovići and in Ulcinj, where firefighters are trying to defend a substation and a church, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) announced.

The Operational Communications Center (OKC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that in Herceg Novi, according to data from 14 p.m., there is an active fire in the area from Bijela to Zelenika.

"The most critical area is above Đenovići," said Marijana Marković from OKC.

According to her, a fire has also been activated above Dragalje, in the municipality of Kotor.

"As for Ulcinj, fires are still active in Vladimir, Klezna, Gač, Zoganje, Briska gora and Darsa, where firefighters are trying to defend the substation and the church," Marković said.

In Bar, there are active fires on Golo Brdo and in Lisinje, but, as Marković said, they do not currently pose a danger.

"As for the rest of Montenegro, there are active fires in Nikšić in Kusidi and Strmina," Marković added.

She said that one MUP air tractor is extinguishing fires in the municipality of Nikšić, and another in Ulcinj, where Antonov is also deployed.

According to Marković, an air tractor and helicopters of the Army of Montenegro (AVCG) are operating in Herceg Novi.

"There are currently 73 firefighters with 20 vehicles on the ground in Herceg Novi. 50 firefighters with ten fire trucks are deployed in Nikšić. The Montenegrin Armed Forces are also deployed in Ulcinj, where there are 14 soldiers with two off-road vehicles and three fire trucks," Marković said.

The OKC appealed to citizens and tourists to behave responsibly, to follow official announcements and instructions from the state and local level, and, if they notice a fire, to call 112 or 123.
