The crew of the ship "Budva I" chased away swimmers from the New Pier on the Đurašević Coast to refuel

The crew of the tourist and excursion ship "Budva I" chased away swimmers from the New Pier on the Đuraševića Coast near Tivat today shortly after 18 p.m. so they could dock the vessel at the pier, and then fill the ship with fuel that was brought here in cans by a delivery van.

Although the locals and tourists present protested about this, the crew of the thirty-meter-long ship did not give up their intention to refuel at the local pier.

While transferring diesel from containers in the van to the ship's tanks, according to the citizens present, a small amount of fuel spilled and reached the sea.

Fueling vessels is permitted only at specially built and equipped places - fuel stations, which are located in four places in Boka Kotorska: in the Port of Kotor at the mouth of the Škurda River near the Port Authority building, in the Porto Montenegro marina in Tivat, the Portonovi marina in Kumbor and the Škver city port in Herceg Novi.

This especially applies to vessels the size of the excursion boat "Budva I", which is a reconstructed former military patrol boat of the "Mirna" class, with a displacement of about 170 tons.

The practice of refueling vessels in improvised conditions at locations other than the four official marine fuel stations in Kotor, Tivat, Kumbor and Herceg Novi is not only not permitted, but is also potentially very dangerous due to the possible outbreak of fires and explosions, as well as environmentally harmful in the event of fuel spills into the sea.

Locals reported the unauthorized action of the captain and crew of the tourist ship "Budva I" today at the New Pier in Krtoli to the maritime authorities.
