FCJK professors: Đeljošaj promotes nationalism and threatens the civic order of Montenegro

Professors of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature (FCJK) Adnan Čirgić, Aleksandar Radoman and Boban Batrićević have strongly condemned, as they state, the nationalist, anti-civic and anti-state policies of the Minister of Economic Development, Niko Đeljošaj.

They assessed that Đeljošaj has been implementing such a policy for years, which in the latter case, as they believe, implies the position that in schools where the Albanian language is taught, the principal must be Albanian.

"His position on the election of the principal of a school in Ulcinj reflects a worrying form of nationalism that should not come from the highest state addresses," the FCJK professors said in a joint statement published by the AntenaM portal.

Čirgić, Radoman and Batrićević believe that insisting on the nationality of candidates is contrary to the regulations on which the state system is based.

"The counting of blood cells in relation to the regulations on which the system is based and functions is more similar to the Chetnik policy that Đeljošaj is dealing with in the government than to a serious policy adapted to a multiethnic environment," the professors stated.

They told Đeljošaj to give up nationalism and his attempts to introduce criteria based on nationality, which, they assessed, are a prelude to the disappearance of the state of Montenegro and its civil structure.

"Montenegro must be equal for all its citizens regardless of their nationality, and not an agreement of self-proclaimed 'people's' chiefs, as the ruling majority has been implementing since 2020. Our future is the EU future, and the EU was created precisely on the negation of the policies promoted by Nik Đeljošaj, Andrija Mandić and their ilk," concluded Čirgić, Radoman and Batrićević.
