Tender announced for the construction of the Faculty of Philology building of the University of Montenegro in Nikšić worth 12 million euros

The University of Montenegro (UCG) has announced a tender for the construction of the Faculty of Philology building in Nikšić, worth 12 million euros.

The new building of the Faculty of Philology, according to the University of Montenegro, was designed as a modern educational unit, with a basement, ground floor and two floors, with a total area of ​​7.097,78 square meters.

"The basement will house a library and reading room, a student club with supporting facilities, an archive, a warehouse, a copy room, technical rooms, a generator room, sanitary facilities and a maintenance area. This floor will also house a garage with nine parking spaces, two of which are intended for people with disabilities. The ground floor will house a central hall, student services with an archive, classrooms and practice rooms, offices for teaching staff and other supporting facilities. A special place is occupied by an amphitheater with a capacity of 200 seats intended for teaching, lectures, professional meetings and other academic events. All floors will be connected by a central staircase and elevator," the statement said.

An amphitheater with a capacity of 80 seats is planned on the first floor, as well as classrooms and practice rooms, staff offices and offices, the dean's and vice-dean's offices, the secretariat, the dean's archive, accounting, common offices, a kitchenette and an employees' club. It is also planned to house a multifunctional ceremonial hall, intended for academic ceremonies, conferences, promotions, presentations and other events.

"The second floor is intended for teaching and academic work, with classrooms, offices and practice rooms, common rooms, as well as sanitary and technical rooms. The project also includes a computer room with 28 seats."

The amphitheatres and conference hall, it is added, will be equipped with modern video presentation and audio conferencing systems, with the possibility of simultaneous translation into four languages.

"An 85-inch digital interactive whiteboard is also planned, while video content and work on the whiteboard will be able to be monitored on two large LCD screens, as well as on a screen located in the lobby in front of the amphitheater. One of the important architectural features of the future building will be the central Atrium, designed to allow as much natural daylight as possible into the interior of the Faculty. Planters with greenery and benches are planned on the terraces of the Atrium, so this central space will be a place for students and employees to meet and socialize."

The statement states that the new building of the Faculty of Philology will combine modern materials with traditional local stone. A ventilated facade with a final cladding of stone slabs - white limestone, or Nikšić limestone, has been designed.

"Great importance in the project has been given to accessibility for people with disabilities. The entrance to the building has been designed with appropriate ramps, and an elevator and horizontal communications will enable access to all floors and key facilities. Special parking spaces have also been planned, as well as tactile strips and other markings that facilitate independent movement through the building. The project envisages a total of 99 parking spaces for the needs of the Faculty. Some of the parking spaces will be located in the basement garage, while the rest will be organized in three outdoor parking units. Green areas have also been planned that will contribute to the aesthetic quality of the complex but also to a more pleasant environment for the daily stay of students and employees," it was announced.
