The Korina Association announced that at least 17 bodies of dogs and/or other animals were dumped in one of the pits in the Nikšić settlement of Trubjela.
The association stated that the pit is 2,2 kilometers away from the municipal shelter for abandoned animals in Brestice.
"The photographs we took in the pit, about 15 meters deep, show scattered preserved remains, as well as dog skeletons, as well as large amounts of discarded garbage, in the form of old furniture, car tires and other waste. Orange bags of dog pellets can also be seen," it was announced.
They added that they informed the police about this information on September 14, 2026, and provided them with the photo material they had taken.
"We ask all people who may have information that is relevant to this case to contact us via email anonimus@korina.me or by phone at 069/910-707, as well as via our social networks," it was announced.
