The conference "Sustainable Leadership: From Decision to Impact" will be organized according to the Zero Food Waste concept, which is being applied for the first time at an event in Montenegro, and through which excess food generated during the event will be responsibly directed instead of ending up as waste, showing that sustainability does not have to be just a topic of panels and lectures, but an integral part of the way events are organized.

This was announced by Natalija Bošković from marketing at Television Vijesti, adding that final preparations are underway for the conference on September 24 in Podgorica, which will demonstrate the strong synergy of international and government institutions, the academic, business and financial community, as well as the civil sector.

"The conference 'Sustainable Leadership: From Decision to Impact' attracted more than 200 participants. For the first time in Montenegro, there is a conference of this format, with credible partners, a credible program, and just one day after the opening, we had more than 110 applications. As organizers, we faced the most difficult problem - that more places were needed, and we are truly proud of that," said Bošković, a guest on Boje jutra.

As she stated, the conference will open up a range of current topics, from the availability of European funds and examples of successfully implemented projects to financing sustainable initiatives, energy transition and the circular economy.

The focus will be on how the principles of sustainable development, at a time when sustainability is increasingly influencing investments, economic development and company competitiveness, are transformed into concrete decisions, investments and business models.

"We will talk about the circular economy, but it was also important for us to demonstrate sustainability in practice. We wanted to include everyone present, so all food waste generated during the conference will be turned into a resource," announced Bošković.

She believes that the greatest value of the conference will be the exchange of experiences, presentation of good practices and creation of new partnerships.

"The biggest impact will not only be what we say on September 24th, but what will follow after the conference. We want to continue to strongly promote the topic of sustainability, which is why participation is free. Our goal is to develop a kind of ecosystem of cooperation around this topic that benefits local communities and contributes to economic development," said Bošković.

These, as well as numerous other issues important for the sustainable development of Montenegro, will be discussed on September 24 in Podgorica, and a detailed program of the event is available. here.
