Out of the 190.000 euros provided in the budget of the Municipality of Rožaje for the support of sports teams, 173.000 will be given to clubs headed by officials or members of the Bosniak Party (BS).
The most money - 98.500, will be awarded to the "Ibar" football club, whose president is also the mayor, Ejup Nurković.
Basketball club "Ibar", chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Rafet Husović, received 40.500 euros, and Judo club "Ibar", headed by Omer Nurković (BS), received 10.000 euros.
The chess club "Rožaje" of Rahman Husović, the uncle of the head of BS, was allocated 4.000 euros, and the Snowboard club "Jump" of Dženis Nurković, the son of the President of the Municipality, 2.000 euros.
Sports collectives headed by non-BS members were granted amounts between 500 and 1 euros, and only one will receive 500.
8.000 euros remained undetermined.
The coach of the "Hajla" Karate Club, Alen Kalač, says that it is unacceptable to politicize sport.
"Any investment in sports is commendable, but it is unacceptable that it is misused politically. Shouldn't children who choose sports led by non-BS members also train? In the football and basketball club, which will receive the largest part of the cake from the budget, i.e. 139.000 euros, there are 13 players from the side. Shouldn't we invest our money in our children".
Kalač claims that the 1 euros his club received cannot even pay for the hall, while "the local management spends at least 500 euros a year on lunches and drinks."
"Last year, my club received 3 euros, so I wonder what has changed in the meantime. I call on all relevant factors in the country to review this distribution, and especially the Minister of Sports (Nikola Janović) to answer whether the strategy he advocates is being respected in this way, whose goal is the maximum involvement of young people in sports and its best possible affirmation".
Nurković did not answer "Vijesta" according to which criteria money from the city coffers was distributed to sports clubs.
