The agreement on cooperation between the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU) and the Ministry of Culture, which is considered to be an example of necessary and creative cooperation, was signed today in Podgorica.
As announced by the Ministry, the agreement was signed by the Minister of Culture Janko Ljumović and CANU President Dragan Vukčević.
"The agreement on cooperation between CANU and the Ministry of Culture is an example of necessary and creative cooperation, which brings our institutions together in the idea of jointly marking all important events from cultural history," assessed Ljumović.
As he said, that Agreement maps a number of professional, research and substantive projects and programs and actually represents an introduction to long-term cooperation.
Ljumović added that the Agreement "will determine joint work and quality use of professional and scientific potential, because there is no good cultural policy without quality research and professional work".
"The agreement is a platform that contributes to the quality of the cultural policy of the Ministry of Culture, which with this document and various other partnerships and lines of cooperation it establishes, contributes to the development of projects and events that reflect the Montenegrin cultural identity, the diversity of our unique cultural heritage, but also the creativity that in the context we are creating contemporary identity and contemporary culture in Montenegro", he said.
Speaking about the importance of the document, Vukčević said that it was one of a series of agreements that the Academy signed with ministries and institutions outside the country, with the aim of improving the work, opening the Academy to new topics and new collaborators, but also preserving the cultural heritage, identity and continuity of Montenegrin state and society.
"The agreement will enable a more organized study of cultural heritage and the publication of new editions such as lexicons within the lexicographic center, but it will also be a message to creators in the field of culture that CANU's doors are open for them," added Vukčević.
As announced, a series of events have been announced that will mark the 170th anniversary of the publication of the "Mountain Wreath".
The agreement that was signed today, apart from the program marking the 170th anniversary of the publication of the "Mountain Wreath", also defines the implementation of joint projects.
The projects, as announced, relate to the publication of lexicographic and monographic editions in the field of art and culture, improvement of the state and presentation of the archaeological sites Svač and Crvena stijena, holding joint round tables on the topic of Archaeological sites in Montenegro and the State of the cultural heritage of Montenegro and models improvements, joint application with international funds.
