Activists of the Center for the Protection and Study of Birds (CZIP) filed a criminal complaint against a minor for torturing a gray heron.
He posted a video on his Instagram account - "What a beautiful bird", in which someone is strangling a protected species, which screams in agony. Later in the video, the same person pulls the tortured bird with a chain, forcing it to fly. That he does it for fun is shown by his laughter, which can be heard while torturing the heron.
The CZIP suspects that the young man tortured the bird in the video, which shows the same dog that the minor owns.
They claim that they submitted the report because of the suspicion that he committed the crime of "killing and torturing animals and destroying their habitat".
"On February 17, 2017, by looking into the Instagram account of a young man who was reported by his friends from this social network due to disturbing content, we noticed a video showing the torture of a gray heron. We assume that the disturbing scene was recorded today via the live option and that "most likely a heron caught in the Skadar Lake National Park. The gray heron is a species protected by law," the CZIP criminal complaint states.
