Majorettes from Herceg Novi, accompanied by the recognizable city music, paraded today along Freedom Street to Independence Square, where they performed the final act in the presence of numerous fellow citizens.
In this way, the beginning of the 48th "Mimosa Festival" event was marked, which will be marked by numerous events in Herceg Novi during February.
The spokeswoman of JUK "Herceg Fest", Tanja Bošnjak, said that they gathered for the second time in Podgorica to bring back the old spirit of the "Mimosa Festival" to the capital of Montenegro.
"It's very cheerful here. There is city music, majorettes and clowns. We hope that everyone will join us at one of the events," Bošnjak said.
Bosniak said that they were very satisfied with the response of the people of Podgorica, who came to watch the majorette parade.
"You can see that people enjoy the parade of majorettes and city music," said Bošnjak.
She said that the "Feast of Mimosas" will start tomorrow with an abrum, the so-called carnival procession of invitations, from Igalo to Nikola Đurković Square, as well as by setting up a carnival doll and a box for accusations and suggestions in the square.
As she said, the official opening is expected on February 3, when Toni Cetinski will perform.
