In the Biogradska rainforest, they continue to regularly feed wild game. Rangers in the National Park (NP) "Biogradska gora" visited the feedlots and supplied them with sufficient amounts of hay and salt for the animals.
As they said in the protection service of that park, the frost and snow exhausted the supplies that mammals can find in the environment.
"There were many days when the temperature was below minus 20 degrees, so the mobility and game animals were reduced, thus their ability to get to food. We again visited all the locations provided for this and left hay because the feeding grounds were empty. We inspected the cameras we set up next to the feeding area and saw deer game come and consume the food left behind," they say in that NP.
Feeding will be organized every fourth day and they believe that this will be enough to help the game to winter.
From the PR service of JP National Parks of Montenegro (NPCG), they recently said that the feeding of wild animals is regularly organized in the national parks "Durmitor", "Lovćen" and "Prokletije".
In order to leave bales of hay and salt at certain locations, the supervisors on snowshoes walk over 10 kilometers.
The feeding of wild game, they remind, is provided by the programs managed by the NPCG in order to implement protection measures with an emphasis on the winter period.
