The Association of Journalists of Montenegro (UNCG) organized a formal assembly of the Association today in the restaurant "Ognjište" in Podgorica, on the occasion of the Day of Journalists, and on that occasion, awards were presented to the best, according to the Jury, for the past year 2016.
The first annual award went to Veliša Kadić, a longtime correspondent of "Večernje Novosti". The second one went to Goran Kapor, journalist and deputy editor of the "Vijesti" economic newsroom, who was awarded for a series of research articles on abuses in the field of games of chance.
The third prize was shared by "Dan" journalists Vukomir Radenović and Marko Vešović.
The "Boško Pušonjić" award for the best report this year went to Dragan Alorić, director of "Srpski radij" from Podgorica.
UNCG President Goran Ćetković, addressing the journalists at the beginning of the meeting, noted that "little has changed for the better since the last ceremony, but that each individual journalist has the duty to fight for the postulates of journalistic ethics and truth as the ideal of journalistic reporting." .
"This year, the emphasis of our Association's work will be on cooperation with all institutions and organizations that work, or can work, on improving the poor social and economic position of the members of this trade, but will strive to improve the reputation of the profession to the extent of its capacities," said Ćetković. .
He warned that the responsibility of UNCG is greater than other organizations, because it is the longest-standing witness and direct actor of the development of journalism in Montenegro during its 72 years of existence.
