Minister of Education Damir Šehović presented today the "Oktoih" awards to this year's laureates in the field of education and upbringing.
The Public Preschool Institution (PPU) "Dragan Kovačević" from Nikšić, the Maritime High School from Kotor and the history teacher at the Public Institution Second Primary School in Budva, Dragana Mitrović, were awarded.
Director Mila Backović received the award on behalf of the kindergarten "Dragan Kovačević" in Nikšić, and Director of the Maritime High School Veljko Botica received the award on behalf of that institution.
"I want to thank everyone who put a part of themselves into the work of these laureates, so that we could do our job as well as possible, which is why we received this award," said Botica.
Jury president Zoja Bojanić-Lalović said that 18 proposals for the award were received this year, but that they wanted to support "visionaries" in the field of education.
She assessed that Mitrović has shown that she possesses exceptional skills in working with young people, and the success of her work can be seen in what she possesses as a teacher.
"The teacher does not finish his work when he leaves the class, but when he feels that the work is finished," said Bojanić-Lalović.
He claims that the students of the Maritime High School in Kotor presented themselves to many international companies and won numerous awards, which showed how much knowledge they acquired in that institution.
She said that the "Dragan Kovačević" PU is a well-organized institution and its employees develop a desire to learn through dedicated work with children, which is why their children later become good students.
