"Vijesti" journalist Damira Kalač was awarded for the series about Cijevna

The Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector (MANS) awarded today awards to the best investigative journalists who used some of the Internet tools for their stories.

The first prize was awarded to journalists from the daily newspaper "Dan" Marko Vešović and Vladimir Otašević, the second to Danilo Ajković from the portal "FOS Media", while the third prize was shared by Ana Ostojić and Damira Kalač, journalists from "Dana" and "Vijesti".

Kalač received the award for a series of texts on the construction of small hydroelectric power plants on the Albanian part of the Cijevna River.

Before the awards were presented, a panel discussion on investigative journalism was held. The participants agreed that adequate media regulations are necessary for quality investigative journalism.

They also agree that in Montenegro, everyone who wants to do research in any way suffers because of the changes to the Law on Free Access to Information and that even the old law is far better than the one whose changes were adopted during the summer.
