During his fruitful life, Spadijer was deeply attached to Cetinje and at every opportunity he emphasized the importance of the capital as a cultural and historical center and a symbol of Montenegro and its freedom, fighting for its dignity and prosperity. Within the limits of his power, he tried to spread awareness of the importance of Cetinje for the identity of Montenegro.
