A top Chinese TV maker breaking into the North American market admits its TVs spied on users.
Skyworth, which made a big splash at CES 2020 in Las Vegas and sells at least six TV models in the US, said in a statement that the independent Gozen Service app on its Android TVs collected more data than it should have.
The application is developed by a company called Gozen Data, and collects data about all Internet-connected gadgets on the home network, as well as the names of nearby Wi-Fi networks, and sends it to a web server managed by Gozen.
