North Macedonia has the fastest internet in the region, and it is among the better-ranked European countries, according to the survey "Cable.co.uk", published by the statistics portal "Landgeist.com".
As Macedonian media reported, with an internet connection speed of 97,9 megabits per second (Mbps), North Macedonia is ahead of Slovenia with 97,0 Mbps, Serbia with 60,5 Mbps, Kosovo 57,3 Mbps, Greece 53,9 Mbps, Montenegro 49,5 Mbps, Bosnia and Herzegovina 44,0 Mbps and Bulgaria 40 Mbps.
The fastest Internet in Europe is on the island of Jersey (264 Mbps), which is located between the coasts of Great Britain and France in the English Channel, in Liechtenstein 246,8 Mbps and in Iceland 229,4 Mbps.
In France, the Internet speed is 152,5 Mbps, in the Netherlands 142,5 Mbps, in Spain 133,3 Mbps, and in Germany 81,7 Mbps.
The slowest internet in Europe is in Croatia 25,7 Mbps, Albania 25,4 Mbps and Turkey 24,8 Mbps.
Cable.co.uk's data is based on an analysis of over 1,5 billion broadband speed tests in 229 countries over the 12 months ending 30 June 2024.
