Microsoft will shut down its Skype platform, the pioneer of internet calling in the early 2000s, in May, the company announced today.
Skype will be closed due to technological developments and the emergence of new communication services such as Zoom.
Skype, founded by Scandinavian entrepreneurs, was acquired by Microsoft in 2011 for $8,5 billion.
