Minister of Energy and Mining Saša Mujović said that the Government will support any development model of the company EPCG-Željezara Nikšić.
Mujović visited that company today, in order to review the situation and activities for the next period through a conversation with the management and representatives of the workers.
The Ministry of Energy and Mining announced that representatives of the board of directors and management in their conversation with Mujović said that there were problems and delays in the implementation of business plans, and that they used today's conversation to present certain steps that have been implemented so far, as well as plans for the next period.
"There was a discussion about the preparation of a public call for interested companies to lease a forge and steel plant, which would entail the employment of a significant number of workers. In addition to this call, management representatives also presented other activities that were developed and functioned as part of the business plan Ironworks," the announcement reads.
It is added that Mujović said that the goal is to return to Nikšić the epithet of the industrial center of Montenegro.
He also, it is added, emphasized that competitiveness on the market is a very important item and highlighted the introduction of new technologies, such as the production of "green steel" as a development opportunity for the company.
As he added, with a credible partner and the support of the state, and with the maximum willingness of employees to engage and work, there is a perspective for a better future for the Ironworks.
It was also announced that Mujović spoke with representatives of the trade union organization and listened to the challenges faced by the employees.
"Representatives of the workers expressed dissatisfaction with the current dynamics of activities that are carried out in accordance with the business plan. According to the president of the trade union Ivan Vujović, the workers are ready to work, to ensure the existence of their families, and as they pointed out, they believe that with the right partner they can significantly contribute to development and growth company," the announcement concludes.
