Canadian basketball players beat Greece last night 86:79 in the first round of the group stage of the Olympic Games in Paris.
At the end of the first quarter, the Canadians had a 26:22 advantage, and went into halftime with 10 more points (48:38).
The Greeks managed to reduce the advantage a little in the third quarter, when it was 68:60 for Canada, and the Canadian basketball players only maintained the advantage until the end - 86:79.
The most effective player in the Canadian team was Arjay Barrett with 23 points, 21 points were scored by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Dillon Brooks scored a double-digit number of points - 14.
On the other hand, in Greece, Janis Adetokunbo's 34 points were not enough.
The only basketball player with double-digit points besides Janis was Kostas Papanikolaou with 17 points.
The Greeks will play their next match on Tuesday against the Spanish basketball team, while Canada will face Australia on the same day.
