A nice gesture by the former president of Croatia - Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, during the match between Montenegro and her country's water polo players at the Olympic Games, tied the flags of the two countries that were spread on the stands of the "Aquatic Center" in Paris.
Her move came at a time when diplomatic relations between Montenegro and Croatia were strained after the adoption of the Resolution on Jasenovac in the Montenegrin Parliament.
In addition, the Government of Croatia recently, in a letter sent to the Water Polo Association of that country, recommended its clubs not to play at the swimming pool in Kotor, which is called Zoran Džimi Gopčević.
Gopčević is a legend of Primorje, and the Government of Croatia points out that he was the guard of the infamous Morinj camp in 1991.
"With one move, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović stopped the 'war' between Croatia and Montenegro," wrote Slobodna Dalmacija.
"Kolinda showed that relations with our neighbors are still affirmative," Tportal added.
In addition to the former president of Croatia and the current member of the International Olympic Committee, the match between Montenegro and Croatia (our national team was defeated 11:8) was also attended by the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić, the head of his cabinet Branko Krvavac and the Minister of Sports and Youth Dragoslav Šćekić.
"Paris brought a lot of pleasant meetings, among others with Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the former president of Croatia before the match between Montenegro and Croatia, where she made a nice gesture when she tied the flags of the two countries," wrote Spajić on the X social network.
