The men's national team of the Netherlands in 3x3 basketball won the gold medal last night at the Olympic Games in Paris, after beating France 18:17 in the final after extra time.
The victory for the Netherlands was brought by Vorti de Jong with a double at the very end of overtime. He also scored a basket a second before the end of the regular part and won overtime by 16:16.
De Jong finished the game with seven points, and Jan Dresen scored six points and had five rebounds. Arvin Slegter added three points and five rebounds, and Dimeo van der Horst two points.
In the French team, Frenk Segela scored five points with six rebounds, and Lukas Dusulije also had five points. Žil Rambo added four points and Timoti Veržija three points.
The bronze medal was won by Lithuania, which beat Latvia 21:18.
In the women's competition, gold was won by Germany with a victory against the Netherlands 17:16, and bronze by the USA team with a victory against Canada 16:13.
