Cuban wrestler Mihain Lopes Nunes won the gold medal last night in the category up to 130 kilograms in the Greco-Roman style at the Olympic Games in Paris by defeating the Chilean Jasmani Acosta Fernandes 6:0.
Lopes thus won the fifth Olympic gold in his career, after he was the best in the category up to 120 kilograms in Beijing and London, and in the category up to 130 kilograms in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
He became the first Olympian in history to win five gold medals in the same discipline.
After the final match, the 41-year-old Cuban took off his sneakers, announcing his retirement from the sport after the sixth Olympic Games.
In the category up to 130 kilograms, bronze medals were won by the Chinese Linzhe Men with a victory against Abdelatif Mohamed from Egypt 5:2 and the Iranian Amin Mirzazadeh, who was better than the wrestler from Azerbaijan Sabah Saleh Shariati 4:0.
