The biggest stars are not playing, but football is also special at the Olympic Games - the final in Paris between the two great nations of France and Spain showed that.
"Tricolori" and "furia" played a memorable match, and after 120 minutes and eight goals, gold shone from the chest of the Spanish masters.
The country that already celebrated the European crown of its footballers this summer, is now also celebrating the Olympic gold, after Spain defeated France 5:3 in the grand final at the Prince's Park.
Thus, for the first time since 1992, Europe received Olympic gold in football, and interestingly, it was also won by Spain.
The show at the "Princes' Park" was opened by Enzo Milo, when he scored with the help of the Spanish goalkeeper Arnau Tenas and seemed to herald a big evening for the hosts...
Nevertheless, in just ten minutes (from 18th to 28th), Spain "followed" the football temple in Paris - in this tournament, the phenomenal Fermin Lopes with two goals (six in total at the OI) and Alex Baen's skillful free kick led the Santi team Denija at 3:1.
And then the lull before the hellish last ten minutes...
Thierry Henry's men were attacking, and they reduced the score only in the 79th minute when Magnes Akljuš deflected Michael Olise's free kick (2:1). And when it seemed that the home team's dream was shattered, a penalty arrived, and the brilliant Jean-Philippe Mateta made no mistake from the penalty spot in the 93rd minute (3:3).
All that did not "kill" Spain, it continued to play its football, and in the additional 30 minutes, the striker of Rajo Vallecano, Sergio Camelo, crowned his national team with two goals.
