The water polo tournament at the Olympic Games in Paris will be of exceptional quality, and the Montenegrin national team has great ambitions, said national team member Đuro Radović.
Radović, who will make his debut in Paris, said that the Olympic Games are the dream of every athlete.
"We have great ambitions, despite the extremely high-quality tournament and the fact that in recent years we have not been in the fight for medals. No one can take away our faith in what we are doing and the hope that we can win a medal," said Radović.
Speaking about the competition, he said that all 12 selections have the quality to join the fight for a medal.
"We have been preparing and training for this. It will not be easy, but we will do everything to present ourselves in the best light," said Radović.
Commenting on the first rival, the Croatian team, he pointed out that it is a quality team.
"We know each other well, they got a lot with the return of Mar Joković. They have a lot of individual quality," said Radović.
Montenegrin water polo players moved into the Olympic village last night, while this morning they had their first training session.
The duel with Croatia, which is the official world champion and European vice-champion, is scheduled for Sunday at 16:35 p.m.
A day later, Montenegro will play Greece (19.30:XNUMX).
In the third round, on August 1, Vladimir Gojković's team will meet Italy (16.35:16.35 p.m.), and two days later, the United States (XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.).
Montenegro will end the group stage with a duel against Romania on August 5 (21.40:XNUMX p.m.).
Placement in the knockout phase will be won by the four best sections from both groups.
