Montenegrin karate national team member Katarina Vlahović won a bronze medal in kata at the European Cadet, Junior and Young Senior Championships in Poland.
The Iskra junior defeated Spaniard Abril Anhulo Madrid 30,0 - 38,5 in the match for third place.
Vlahović was defeated at the start of the tournament by Germany's Shirley Jay, who advanced to the finals and qualified for the repechage. This was followed by victories against Greece's Atina Cikmaki and the Czech Republic's Katarina Novaková, which enabled her to compete for a medal.
She won her second medal from international competitions in the Polish city of Bielsko-Biała, after winning bronze at the World Youth League in Poreč last year.
"I achieved a great result, a great success for me, my club and the national team. I am not yet aware of the success, but a big thank you to my club, my teammates from the national team and all the coaches who were with me and gave me great support," said Vlahović.
Vlahović will also compete in the team competition tomorrow, and the Montenegrin cadet-junior team will also consist of Viktorija Raičević and Mia Ramović.
Of the other Montenegrin representatives, the cadets achieved valuable results - ninth-placed Neda Beljkaš in kata and Vasilija Bijelović in wrestling, up to 47 kilograms.
Team kata performances and junior and junior senior competitions are scheduled for Saturday, while the final matches are scheduled for Sunday.
