Montenegrin boxer Tomislav-Bato Đinović successfully started at the prestigious international tournament "Le Santur", which is held in Argenteuil, a suburb of Paris.
The member of BK Zlatičanin defeated Italian Brian Abatangelo by unanimous decision in the quarterfinals of the 60 kg category.
His rival in the semi-finals will be local boxer Lee Belazel, who was available at the start of the tournament.
"I am very pleased with how Đinović opened the tournament. Although it was clear that he was a little tense at the beginning, probably from the journey, he still found his rhythm when it was most needed. He showed mental strength and stability, which is extremely important in tournaments like this. I hope that he will be even more relaxed in the upcoming matches, because we know how much he can do when he is completely relieved. I believe that he will grow from match to match and show his full potential," said coach Nikola Ružić.
In addition to Đinović, Bojana Gojković will also enter the ring tomorrow, and will fight against domestic boxer Lucy Poliak in the semifinals of the 57 kg category.
"I expect fighting performances from Bojana and Tomislav, a good presentation of our boxing and, of course, victories. Every match like this is an opportunity for progress and development, and we are sure that our competitors will represent Montenegro worthily," Ružić emphasized.
The tournament, which is held in the "Rože Uvrar" sports hall, brought together boxers from countries around the world, and in addition to domestic competitors, there are also athletes from Montenegro, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, Brazil, Serbia and North Macedonia.
