Montenegrin judo is far from world-class, as our other representative at the World Championships, Jahja Nurković, suffered a defeat in the first round at the "Laslo Pap" arena in the 73 kg category.
The better player in the second round was Brazilian Daniel Kargin, who celebrated with a vasari in extra time - after 6,03 minutes.
Four years older, the 27-year-old Brazilian is the best of 18 judokas on the IJF rankings in the 73-kilogram category from the "land of coffee".
Jahja was free in the first round, while the Brazilian beat German Igor Vandtke by ippon.
Yesterday, his brother Jusuf Nurković lost his first fight in the 66 kg category to Bulgarian Bojan Jotov.
The two of them are the only Montenegrin participants in the biggest competition in the prestigious Olympic sport - judo!
