Podgorica Deputy Mayor Nađa Ljiljanić issued a statement apologizing to long-time coach Brano Milačić after last night's ceremonial academy of FK Budućnost.
Milačić did not stay long at the ceremony on Friday evening in Podgorica's main square.
"I came and sat in the second row. There were some businessmen in the first row, I thought I wouldn't crowd... A girl comes up to me and says 'you can't sit here', I tell her I'm invited and tell her my name. She looks at the papers and replies 'and here you are, you're from the fifth row and up. I got up and went home," Milačić wrote.
An apology has arrived from Ljiljanić:
"Brano Milačić is much more than a sports legend - he is a symbol of the Future, Montenegrin sport and the generations he shaped. His place is not counted as a front row seat - his place is among the legends, where those who have indebted sports with their knowledge, dignity and dedication belong," wrote Nađa Ljiljanić.
"Since there was an oversight at the event, which was not organized by the Capital City, but by the Budućnost Football Club, I would still like to extend my sincere apology. Not because it is my formal obligation, but because I feel a personal and human need to show respect for a man who deserved more than protocol. Brano Milačić is not just a part of our glorious sporting past - he is the strength and inspiration of Budućnost," the statement reads.
