In terms of players, one of the strongest teams in the Eurocup is Hapoel Tel Aviv - Patrick Beverley, Jonathan Motley, Bruno Caboclo, Yam Madar and Marcus Foster are just some of the names that coach Dimitris Itoudis can count on.
And coach Dimitris Itudis is one of the best European experts, a man who collaborated with Željko Obradović, and then made a great career on his own and won the Euroleague twice with CSKA Moscow.
Before arriving in Podgorica, Itudis spoke about Buducnost in the match announcement and had nice words about tomorrow's rival.
"We are playing against a team that is currently the leader in the AdmiralBet ABA League and for a reason - Buducnost is a quality team, has an excellent coaching staff, and has two good basketball players at each position. In such a situation, the team can play well and not lose control. Their guards are very creative, and they get a lot of help from the players in the racket. They are a team that has everything," explained Itudis.
Before arriving in Podgorica, Itudis' team lost to their namesake from Jerusalem in the Israeli championship - 92:77.
"We are coming to Podgorica after a very bad game against Hapoel Jerusalem, so we are determined to get back on track immediately. The performance we had against the team from Jerusalem will not happen again. We are motivated to get back on track - for ourselves, but also because of the effort we have put in this season," said Itudis.
Hapoel is third in the Group A standings with a score of 9-5, fighting for a direct place in the quarterfinals.
"The group stage is coming to an end and we need to progress and be better than Buducnost, which is fighting for a place leading to the playoffs. We need to react after the defeat to Hapoel Jerusalem," said Israeli team basketball player Marcus Foster.
