Monaco's great basketball player Mike James and the Monte Carlo club have been fined 200.000 euros, half of which can be paid in deferred installments.
Mike James and Monaco reportedly signed contracts for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons, using an unlicensed agent, basketnews reported.
The French Basketball Federation fined the club 200.000 euros, half of which is a suspended fine.
And the basketball player will later be given a suspension and will not miss a single game this season.
Monaco president Alexei Yefimov has been officially warned.
James averaged 15,8 points and 5,7 assists in 29 minutes on the court this season in the EuroLeague.
Monaco has already been fined several times: 18.500 euros in October 2024 for using players who break the rules in pre-season matches and 20.000 euros earlier for refusing to disclose the details of Mike James' contract.
Monaco has advanced to the knockout stage of the Euroleague, and its rival will be Barcelona.
