Serbia's volleyball players defended the title of European champions, as they beat the home selection of Turkey 14.000:3 (2:21, 25:25, 21:25, 21:22, 25:15) in the final in Ankara in front of 13 spectators.
In a match full of twists and turns, the Serbian "Gracije" missed a great opportunity in the fourth set in which they led with 18:15, but after the turn of the Turkish Bianka Bush, she returned the advantage to 21:19 with great serves. However, the Turkish women won that set.
In the fifth set, the Turkish women led with 5:2, 7:4 and 9:6, but again Bjanka served the Serbian women back into the game. Zoran Terzić's team was more successful in the finish.
Tijana Bošković shone with 23 points, 21 were won by the excellent Brankica Mihajlović. In the domestic selection, 16 points were won by Boz.
"Gracije" defended their title from Baku two years ago, and won all matches in Turkey. In the fight for the first place in group A, they were also better than the Turks with 3:1.
Italy won the bronze, beating Poland 3:0.
Tijana Bošković was declared MVP of the championship.
