The Nikšić team defeated the Brazilian Sesi 8:7 today in Espoo, Finland, after a major upset, in the second round of the World Club Goalball Championship.
The decisive goal, for the Nikšić team's first triumph in the championship, was scored by Matej Ledinek three seconds before the end of the game.
The former Slovenian national team player was the creator of the big turnaround, after scoring the equalizer 20 seconds earlier.
After a weak first half in which they trailed 6:3, Nikšić played excellently in the second half. They did not concede a field goal in defense, and with patient play in offense, they achieved a major turnaround and victory.
The most efficient player in the winning team was Nikola Nikolić with four goals, while Miloš Ranitović and Ledinek scored two goals each.
In the second match of Group A, Hanza from Roštok was convincing against Japanese Ivi 9:4 and recorded its second triumph. They also celebrated yesterday against Nikšić 7:5.
The Nikšić team will play against the Japanese Ivi in the last round, today at 15:30 PM our time.
According to the regulations, all four teams from the group will advance to the knockout phase, in which the first-place team will play against the fourth-place team, or the second-place team against the third-place team from the other group.
