Barcelona started searching for a player who will succeed Luis Suarez in the future.
The Uruguayan turns 32 in January, so the club started looking for a new "nine", a striker who will score a large number of goals for the club this season.
On this occasion, Marka came out today with a list of potential candidates, who could wear the blue-gut jersey.
The first on the list is, of course, Krzysztof Pjontek. The Pole excels in the Genoa jersey, scored 13 goals in 11 games and it is logical that he caught the eye of the leaders of Barca. Its price on the market is around 50 million euros.
There is also the first violin of French Lille this season, the young Nicolas Pepe. He is 23 years old, he is not a classic point guard, but he covers the wing position. This season, he has already found the back of the net seven times and assisted as many times. Last season he scored 13 goals.
The leaders of Barca are also looking at Lautaro Martinez, but that is the least likely option. Inter will not so easily give up the player who arrived this summer and who scored 22 goals in 44 games last season in the Argentinian Racing jersey.
Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner is also a candidate. Germans are moved from Germany by the media in every transfer window, but to no avail. Who knows, maybe the next destination will be Barcelona.
And finally, the most realistic option is the withdrawal of Pac Alcacer from Dortmund on loan. Alcacer played in the yellow jersey, scoring eight goals in seven matches (seven in the Bundesliga and one in the Champions League). Hits the back of the net every 18 minutes in the German championship (played a total of 126 minutes this season)
Suarez himself said yesterday that it is inevitable that in the near future there will be players who will succeed him.
"It is also obvious that Barcelona must look for a number nine because I am 31 years old and I will soon turn 32. Barcelona as a club must think about the future and it is inevitable that some players will come as part of that plan. "Barcelona is a huge club and every day many names are mentioned who are candidates for striker and other positions," Suarez said yesterday.
Suarez arrived in Barcelona in 2014 from Liverpool, and in 212 games, he found the back of the net 158 times. He scored a hat-trick in the El Clasico and confirmed that he is not for "old iron" yet.
