In the last two matches in the League of Nations, the Montenegrin footballers are chasing six points for the first place, but it is no small matter to preserve the second position.
Matches with Serbia on Saturday in Belgrade and Romania three days later will answer the question of how much the weakened team of Ljubiša Tumbaković can finish in the newly formed Uefa competition.
"Six points are at stake, all six guarantee us first place. If we can't be first, it's important to save second place," said midfielder Nebojša Kosović.
The match with the "eagles" is now, even if the table says so, competitively more important.
"Before the first match, most people talked about it being historic, but for us each is the same and we approach each in the same way - very motivated. Now the match is perhaps even more important competitively, because there are still six points in the game, and we can still to be the first," pointed out Kosović.
The duel with Serbia in Podgorica and the defeat of 2:0 is the weakest edition of the "Brave Falcons" since Ljubiša Tumbaković was the coach.
"We have to change some things compared to the first match in Podgorica. We are missing several very important players and we have to forget that and turn to a match that means a lot to us. The first match was announced as special, historic. Now we are looking at the duel with Serbia like any other - we want to win and we will play to achieve it".
The opponent will be weakened by not playing Sergej Milinković-Savić.
"The absence of Milinković-Savic can be of use to us, but we see that Nemanja Matić and Aleksandar Kolarov are now there, who missed the five-match duels. Serbia, however, has many big names, it is strong both as a team and individually, and we will try to stop it".
Serbian media announce that Mladen Krstajić will launch a formation with two attackers - Aleksandar Mitrović and Luka Jović.
"We are also thinking about that. Jović is in excellent shape, but we also have good defenders. The truth is, we are not complete, it will be more difficult without Stefan Savić... It is important that we enter the match well, that we open it in the right way, so that we can easier".
There is little talk about the match with Romania at the moment.
"We must not ignore that duel, which is also very important. But, we must achieve a positive result in Belgrade and wait for the last match in the group in a good mood", concluded the Partizan midfielder and admitted that he was sorry that the game was not played in Humska.
