Đordi Alba has been called up to the Spanish national team for the upcoming match against Croatia in the League of Nations.
The media and fans in Spain criticized coach Luis Enrique for not calling Alba on two occasions since he took over the national team, after the team's disappointing performance at the World Cup in Russia.
His Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique recently urged the coach to bring Alba back into the team.
A win against Croatia on November 15 would take Spain to the "final four" of the League of Nations in June. Alba played 66 games and scored eight goals for Spain, including the one in the 2012 European Championship final against Italy (4:0).
Alba has scored twice for Barcelona this season, and has started 10 of 11 league games and all four in the Champions League.
Luis Enrique has so far favored Chelsea left-back Marcus Alonso, who has now been dropped from the squad.
In addition to him, Injigo Martinez was also invited, who caused a public uproar due to his appearance for the Basque team.
There are no goal-scoring Paka Alcacer and Diego Costa, because Rodrigo, Jago Aspas and Alvaro Morata got the upper hand in the attack.
Instead of the injured Koke and Tiago Alcantara, the talented Celta footballer Brais Mendes and Pablo Fornals from Villarreal got their debut calls.

After the match with Croatia, Spain will play host to Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly match on November 18.
