Hajduković's departure, Cerović the new president

Still an active competitor, Pljevljak Goran Cerović is the new president of the Cycling Association of Montenegro, and in that position he will replace longtime president Branko Hajduković, it was decided at today's extraordinary Assembly, as announced by the sports association.

Cerović is the most decorated Montenegrin cyclist and the current champion of Montenegro, and, as reported, this year alone he won as many as 15 gold sports medals at international competitions.

"He is the holder of a kind of record that will be difficult to break. At the inter-republic, now state, youth sports games from the tri-border region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, in the 57 years of their duration, he won trophies for his town of Pljevlja for eight years which he succeeded in this year as well," the announcement states.

As stated in the announcement, Cerović "has decided to prove himself in sports work, so he will try to do so at the head of the largest Montenegrin cycling organization, for which he received the full trust of all who today decided to entrust him with such a high sports function".

"The topic of today's Assembly of the Cycling Association of Montenegro was the harmonization of the Statute with the recently adopted Law on Sports of Montenegro. The Statute thus arranged will be submitted to the Ministry of Sports of Montenegro for assessment in the coming days," the announcement of the Cycling Association reads.
