The junior basketball team of Montenegro qualified for the quarterfinals of the European Championship, after spectacular victory over Spain 83:78.
Boško Radović's team shocked the favorite, created a championship sensation, and now they want more. Montenegro will face France in the quarter-finals.
"This is a great success. We worked hard for 40 days to get to this point. We are not afraid of anyone and aim for a medal," said Jovan Kljajić.
The "Reds" experienced three defeats in the group stage - unexpected defeats against Great Britain, and then two unfortunate defeats, against Lithuania and Serbia, in which they lost a big advantage in the finish in dramatic endings.
"We learned from the mistakes from the group stage, especially the ones we made against Lithuania and Serbia, in which we led until the end. Against Spain, we remained focused and calm in the decisive moments and finally reached the victory," said Kljajić.
The match against France will be played on Friday at 13 p.m.
