Simone Pjanidjani is close to taking over Maccabi, Israeli media reported.
The management of the club from Tel Aviv will terminate cooperation with Guy Gudeson during the weekend, dissatisfied with the games and results at the end of the season.
Contact with the still current coach of Italy was established, and an agreement in principle was reached regarding cooperation.
Pjanidjani led Siena from 2006 to 0 and won six Italian championship titles, with two placements in the final four of the Euroleague.
For a time he also managed Fenerbahçe.
