After firing Avery Johnson, Brooklyn's management began searching for a new coach.
As "ESPN" reports, Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov had a conversation with the legendary Phil Jackson about the possibility of sitting on the bench.
Sixty-seven-year-old Jackson asked for a few days to consider whether or not to return to coaching after a year and a half.
Prokhorov is ready to meet all of Jackson's financial demands, and now it's up to the former Chicago and Los Angeles Lakers coach to decide whether to accept the offer or not.
Jackson has 11 titles in his trophy case, six with the Bulls and five with the Lakers.
He has been unemployed since June 2011, when he left the LA Lakers after six seasons.
