Avery Johnson is no longer Brooklyn's coach. The club management decided to fire the former Dallas strategist after the Nets won only three in 16 matches in December.
The decision was announced by Billy King, the general manager of the club. On the occasion of Johnson's dismissal, the owner of Brulin, Russian businessman Mikhail Prokhorov, also announced.
"Brooklyn management wants to thank Avori for everything he has done in our club and we wish him the best of luck in his future career," said Prokhorov.
Johnson joined the Nets on June 15, 2010, and in just over two years, he recorded 60 wins and 116 losses.
The team will be temporarily taken over by the previous assistant, 63-year-old PJ Carlisimo, who has been in the coaching staff since June 6, 2011.
