The most decorated European coach, Željko Obradović, has decided to take a break in his career, but he will be gaining NBA experience in the next few days.
Obradović will spend a few days with his longtime assistant from Panathinaikos, Dimitris Itudis, at the opening of the training camp of the Detroit Pistons, reports the Greek website "Eurohoops".
The Serbian expert was European champion eight times, and won a total of 32 trophies. Not many European experts succeeded in the NBA league, Ettore Mesina also stayed for a short time, but it would be interesting to see how Obradović would manage.
However, it is difficult to expect him to decide on such a change, given that the work system is different in the NBA league and in Europe, both in terms of coaching work and in terms of the game itself.
In any case, Obradović will be the second big man from Serbia to be a guest of an NBA team in the preseason, since Aleksandar Đorđević received an invitation from the Denver Nuggets.
At the end of last season, Obradović left Panathinaikos after 13 years, and rejected rich offers from several Turkish clubs.
