Partizan has been invincible for five years in duels against Buducnost Voli in Morača.
The people of Podgorica were close to victory on several occasions, but in the end it was the people of Belgrade who rejoiced.
Even before this duel, "black and white" are the absolute favorites and Dejan Radonjić's team will have to surpass their abilities if they want to end the unpleasant series.
Partizan showed its power on Thursday evening against Maccabi, who easily passed through Podgorica a fortnight ago.
This clearly indicates that the players of Buducnost Volija will face great challenges.
"It will be a very interesting match. Partizan is one of the best clubs in this area and you don't need special motivation to play against them. They have excellent results in recent years in the Euroleague, the ABA League and the domestic championship. They have a large number of good players, I would single out Nikola Peković and Aci Loa. They get along well in the game and I think they are the engine of the team," says the best player of Budućnost Volija, Nikola Vučević.
From the moment Vucevic signed for the Montenegrin and Pekovic for the Serbian champions, this match was eagerly awaited. Teammates from the national team will meet in a direct duel, and whoever is better could open the door to victory for his team.
"Peković is certainly one of the best, if not the best center in Europe. We play in the same position, but we are different players. We know each other well from the national team, we are great friends and it is very difficult to play against Peković. I can only learn a lot from him , regardless of the fact that we will be rivals on the field".
It is clear to the XNUMX-year-old basketball player that in a one-on-one game, the center of Partizan is perhaps the most dominant on the Old Continent.
"It is difficult to stop Peković, few people in Europe can do that. He is strong, he knows his racket very well, he has an excellent game with his back to the basket. I will try my best to limit him. I hope the coaching staff will find a way to, at least to some extent, we neutralize, because he is the best player of Partizan and that would mean a lot to us".
Vučko, as his teammates affectionately call the 16th pick from the last draft, believes that Buducnost Voli has a chance to celebrate.
"It is certain that we will not give up. We have a great desire and motive, and if we play as well as we can, we will certainly have a chance to win, although it must be said that Partizan is the favorite. The little things that cannot be seen from the stands will decide. Whoever is more concentrated, whoever establishes control of the game will have an advantage" - concluded Vučević.
There is no doubt that "Morača" will be filled to capacity. There were no tickets yesterday in the early afternoon.
I enjoyed Podgorica
Unfortunately, the moment of parting between Vučević and Budućnost Voli is approaching. It may happen that today's duel against Partizan will be his last in the "blue" jersey.
He must report to Philadelphia on December 9.
"Two months were great, I enjoyed the team of Budućnosti and Podgorica. I am glad that I played in front of my audience, people had the opportunity to convince themselves of my qualities, because until now they did not have the opportunity to watch me, because I played in America. I'm glad that I showed myself in the best light and that I helped the club. On the one hand, I'm glad that I'm going, because I'll finally have the opportunity to try myself in the NBA. On the other hand, I'm guilty, because I was received very well from the people of the club, the coach, the teammates, the fans. This was a nice experience for me, which I will never forget. I don't know yet if I will play on Tuesday. It's not up to me, the manager is in contact with the people from Philadelphia. I have to I will arrange the visa, people from the club and the manager are working on that," explained Vučević.
Bought fans
Since the start of the season, Vučević has played consistently and is the best player of Podgorica.
This is shown by the statistics in the ABA league of 17,6 points, 10 rebounds, assists, 1,2 steals and 1,1 blocks on average per match.
The team bought fans, who know that they appreciate all that he has done for the team in a short time.
"The support of the fans means a lot to me. I feel good when I leave the field and they applaud me. It is an additional motivation for me to work even better. I am satisfied that they recognized that I give my maximum in every match and that is something that is not forgotten like that easy. Soon he will fulfill his dream and play in the strongest league in the world. - I don't think much about it. I did a great job in Podgorica, I'm ready. I'll do my best to impose myself, to get some playing time. It will be my first year, I don't have too high expectations. If I don't play too much, I won't be disappointed. The very fact that I am part of the NBA team is a great success for me. I will wait patiently for my chance," Vucevic explained.
