Gregg Popovich, the coach of the basketball team of the United States of America, announced the names of 35 players he is counting on for the World Cup and the Olympic Games.
The legendary coach of San Antonio Spurs will eventually choose twelve names that will defend the colors of the USA at Mundobakset in China 2019, i.e. a year later in Tokyo, reports B92.
There are as many as 29 Olympic gold medalists on the list, and it is an understatement to say that the names are frightening.
The biggest names on the list are LeBron James and Golden State Warriors playmaker Stephen Curry, but also Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, James Harden.
"Even though we don't have a competition this year, the announced roster is the first step toward defending our world championship and Olympic gold, and we will gather for the first time July 25-27 at the camp in Las Vegas," said team manager Jerry Colangelo.
